Join us on Thursday, November 16th as we visit the ALIVE! West End Food Hub located at 510 South Van Dorn Street, which serves as an essential lifeline for families in need. During our brief site-visit from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM, you'll witness the incredible work being done to provide food, personal items, cleaning supplies, school supplies, and, most importantly, a sense of community.
Following the site-visit, let's unwind and network at Aslin Brewery located just a few blocks the food bank at 847 South Pickett Street. From 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, we'll enjoy a delightful happy hour while learning more about how ALIVE! connects families to various support services and ways to get involved. Registration is open. ALIVE! was founded in 1969 as Alexandria Involved Ecumenically by 14 faith communities in response to rising levels of poverty in the City of Alexandria. An interfaith organization, ALIVE! has grown to 50-member congregations.
ALIVE! is also supported by the City of Alexandria, community and civic organizations, local businesses, and volunteers working together to provide basic needs support to Alexandrians.
ALIVE! provides basic needs support to Alexandrians. Food, transitional shelter, financial help, eviction prevention, and furniture & housewares to Alexandrians since 1969.
