The Alexandria Bar Association has been serving the community for over 80 years. Our membership is comprised mainly of small firms and solo practitioners located in and around the City of Alexandria, but we do have members throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Currently the membership is 300 active members. 

Collegiality is the hallmark of our association. From September through May, members meet at monthly dinners on the third Thursday. 

Communication from bar office and the board of directors is provided by the weekly Week in Brief and a biannual newsletter, the OYEZ. Communications among members is facilitated by section meetings, online membership directory and Young Lawyers activities. 

We provide a wide variety of Continuing Legal Education classes at the annual CLE Marathon at the end of October where you may obtain all 12 hours of CLEs including 2 hours of ethics over the course of three days. As a member of this bar you may attend the CLEs at a discounted rate, while non-members pay full tuition. For information about current CLEs offered, the locations and times, click here. 

The Alexandria Lawyer Referral Service provides referrals for clients who want to schedule a half-hour consultation with an attorney who is a member of the service. For information about the Alexandria Lawyer Referral Service, click here.
