The Alexandria Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service is a pre-paid, discounted legal
consultation service. For a fee of $50, paid to the Service in advance, clients receive a referral for
a 30-minute appointment with an attorney versed in their area of interest.
Appointments are usually scheduled within 1-3 days of the first contact from the client and take
place at the attorney's office.

The John D. Grad Program (Moderate Means)
In cooperation with Legal Services of Northern Virgnia, the Alexandria Bar Association has
initiated a program to assist those clients who do not qualify for free legal aid, yet are still unable to
afford standard attorney's fees.

Members of the Alexandria Bar Association who participate in the Lawyer Referral Service may elect to be part of the John D. Grad program to assist clients of moderate means.

If a client is certified by LSNV as eligible for the program, the client pays a $50 fee to the Bar Association for an initial 30-minute consultation with a participating attorney.

After the initial appointment, the attorney promises not to exceed an hourly rate of $90.
